What was announced

The Nuclear Company is proposing Prosperity One, a phased nuclear energy campus of up to six AP1000 reactors at Carrs Bottom on the Ohio River in Lewis County, Kentucky. At full buildout it would have about 6.6 gigawatts of generating capacity. Initial planning contemplates two units first.

What was not announced

No license, grid-connection agreement or federal loan has been awarded or approved. No Nuclear Regulatory Commission or PJM application has been filed. No power buyer has been announced. We are not publishing a construction schedule, a jobs estimate, a tax estimate or a total acreage today.

What comes next

Detailed site studies, federal licensing, grid-connection review and financing would all have to happen before construction could begin. We will post each step here, with a date.
